Communities in which people’s ideas, passion and pre-existing enterprising behaviour naturally flow into enterprising action that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. Making Spaces supports the design and delivery of safe and courageous 'spaces' in communities in which local people chose to learn about their local economies and decide if they wish to take action to develop them. Making Spaces uses simple economic frameworks, economic social and environmental literacy tools and workshops, support network development and enterprise coaching for businesses and social enterprise start-ups - all designed around coaching principles to maximise engagement, reflection, learning, action and development.
Making Spaces works across the community, institutional and policy level to break down silo’s and maximise the best use of local resources on a sustainable basis.
Making Spaces' project conceptualising, design, coaching, technical support and learning capture is largely provided via low cost and low carbon footprint online distance support. We work anywhere in the world with experience in both developed and developing countries. We deliver co-designing, staff and community action group training and both coaching and technical support.
Making Spaces is good at working with people as we believe that “people are the only 'asset' capable of making a decision for change and of choosing to put their energy into bringing about this change”. We believe that although economies were originally designed to serve people, this has changed to the point where people are now serving economies. We exist to try and put people back at the centre of economies
Making Spaces supports institutions with training in innovative, productive and integrated project and community leadership methodology, coaching approaches for regeneration and economic and environmental literacy workshops for local government authorities and non-government organisations
