Our Vision
Making Spaces is a values based independent consultancy that exists to improve the well-being of people in low income communities. We believe that people are the only “asset” that can make a decision for change and who may choose to put their ideas and energy into bringing this about. We believe that although economies were created to serve people, that people are now for the most part serving economies and that this needs to change.
Our Mission
We will work in partnership with like-minded organisations and communities internationally to promote and create innovative approaches to local economic development through the medium of sustainable enterprising communities. We believe that the people living in communities should have the greatest say on how their communities develop and that their ideas, passion and energy should be at the heart of this development. We believe that in order to have true well-being people need to be valued and to be able to offer value and that this is a hallmark of the most effective local economies. We will work across the community, institutional and policy divides to maximise the level of support for local enterprise and civic voice and to help shape new and improved approaches in policy and delivery methods that will release ideas and passion, remove barriers to local enterprise and improve local resource flows.
